Pfizer Philippines Foundation, Inc.
Integral to the definition of Pfizer’s mission, vision and values is responsible corporate citizenship, where service to community takes the forefront. On this ground, Pfizer Philippines Foundation, Inc. was born in 1997. Its birth has further enriched the decades-long corporate social responsibility initiatives of Pfizer, especially as it continues to expand its network of partnerships.
Indeed, the foundation has come a long way, progressively taking on larger roles. From medicine donation, it has taken corporate responsibility to greater heights by initiating programs that raise public awareness on disease prevention and management, collaborating with organizations that have sustainable healthcare programs, and implementing active employee volunteerism.
The programs of PPFI fuel Pfizer with a unique brand of leadership in various levels of Philippine healthcare system. Through PPFI's efforts, Pfizer hopes to make a significant and sustainable difference in the lives of Filipino communities in every part of the nation.
Beyond pioneering cures, Pfizer is a company that truly cares. In the last 10 years, through PPFI, it has created links between Filipinos and life-saving medicines and services by paving roads to healthcare where access is most needed.
To date, programs of PPFI have made not only measurable impact on local communities and on target-beneficiaries, but have also been recognized for their novel approaches to corporate social responsibility.
Aside from reaching out and providing healthcare support to local communities in the Philippines, the Pfizer Philippines Foundation also leverages its global network and its brand as a responsible corporate citizen to embark on campaigns that support pro-activeness and vigilance in health among Filipinos all over.
In its more than 55 years as one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the country, Pfizer has always considered its people as critical in achieving its goal to help Filipinos live healthier and longer lives. And over the years, the employees of Pfizer have lived up to this expectation through their active participation in company programs that address various health and social concerns of the local community.
Responding to the dire needs of the community, Pfizer in September 2009 entered into a partnership with the Baraca local government seeking to improve the quality of healthcare facilities and resources available in the island.
The Pfizer Philippines Foundation, Inc. actively promotes public health reasearch through programs such as Providing an Enabling Environment for Research (PEER) and the Philippines Science High School – Pfizer Youth Science Research Program.
