Volunteerism
In its more than 55 years as one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the country, Pfizer has always considered its people as critical in achieving its goal to help Filipinos live healthier and longer lives. And over the years, the employees of Pfizer have lived up to this expectation through their active participation in company programs that address various health and social concerns of the local community.
ENGAGE is Pfizer’s employee volunteerism program, and was conceived in 2005, after a company-wide survey on employee volunteerism showed that the majority of employees value employee volunteerism, and felt that they could still get more involved in community service. The employees of Pfizer share the company’s commitment to working for a healthier Philippines. Through ENGAGE, they are provided with opportunities to share time, talent and resources with the communities that Pfizer serves. ENGAGE is a concrete demonstration of the company’s core value of Community.
Since 2006, the involvement of Pfizer colleagues has been more than favorable. In its first year of implementation, ENGAGE has demonstrated not only Pfizer’s but, most importantly, the employees’ sincere commitment to making a sustainable and significant difference in the community. More than the number of company and personal hours that a Pfizer employee puts into ENGAGE, are the positive changes in an employee’s attitude and outlook on employee volunteerism and the value of giving back to the communities where they live and work.
