Empowering Patient Advocacy
Recently, the Asia Foundation through the support of Pfizer Foundation conducted a capability enhancement workshop for patient organizations. Representatives from different advocacy groups participated in the five-day workshop held at the Ateneo Graduate School of Government. This program aims to enhance skills on advocacy of the participants to advance their strategies and programs towards advocacy.
Remarkably, the participants were very enthusiastic workshop during the workshop. There were a lot of sharing of insights and experiences which helped the facilitators to effectively communicate the different topics discussed during the workshop. Perhaps, this can also be attributed to being patients themselves of some participants. As output of the workshop, they developed project proposals for their organizations. Then, these will be screened by representatives from the Asia Foundation and Pfizer Philippines Foundation for funding from Pfizer Foundation.
This program is supported by Pfizer Philippines Foundation through grants from Pfizer Foundation in New York through the Asia Foundation. In this program, we provide an avenue for people to empower themselves and improve the quality of life of our most important stakeholder -- the patients. |
