PADE Convenes Diabetes Experts for First Workshop
PADE invited several experts on diabetes education for its first workshop as part of the PADE-Pfizer Diabetes-Preventing Schools Project. The workshop intended to gather more data and insights on how to further improve the indicators of a diabetes-preventing school, which was initially developed by PADE. Representatives from different diabetes associations, health groups, academe and Pfizer represented by Dr. James Wee and Mike Alzona, joined PADE on its first in a series of workshops. Dr. Josefina Tuazon, the Project Leader, presented to them the rationale of the project and expressed the need of their support for its success. They were very cooperative and candid enough to share their comments and suggestions on the different indicators. The day ended with a lot of vital information that would surely help the team in improving the indicators. As Dr. Tuazon said, "this is the beginning of more partnerships which is important to achieve the project's objective - to promote diabetes-preventing schools." |
