The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) has given Pfizer Philippines three Anvil Awards during the 39th Anvil Awards ceremony held at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel recently. These are the Anvil Awards of Excellence for the Leaders For Health Project and the Biyahe Tayo! Song/MTV and the Anvil Award of Merit for Pfizer L.I.F.E. Club and Science Program.
The Leaders for Health Project is a tripartite partnership among the Department of Health, Ateneo Graduate School of Business and Pfizer Philippines Foundation, aimed at developing a corps of competent, professional and committed doctors who will reshape the way Filipinos think, feel and behave towards health.
The L.I.F.E. and SCIENCE programs are value-added services developed by Pfizer to help educate and support patients with heart disease, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. The L.I.F.E. Club was designed to help patients achieve their target cholesterol levels, while the SCIENCE Program aims to help those with hypertension effectively manage their blood pressure.
Also winning an Excellence Anvil Award is the Biyahe Tayo! Song and MTV under the Tools of Public Relations category. This was created and executed in conjunction with the WOW Philippines, Biyahe Tayo! Bonamine Travel Advocacy campaign of Pfizer Consumer HealthCare in partnership with the Department of Tourism and Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation.
The Anvil competition is conducted annually by the PRSP to give recognition to outstanding PR programs and tools designed or implemented in the past year and have clearly identified with the public interest and those that have long lasting impact and value. Now on its 39th year, the Anvil Award is considered the "Oscars" of the PR industry. There is no cash award, but it is much coveted and no award is given unless the standards are met.
Over 140 companies and organizations, both government and private, participated in the 39th Anvil competition. It is awarded by a multi-sectoral jury which follow stringent norms and process of selection.
“As the world’s leading pharmaceutical company, Pfizer’s role does not end with discovering and developing innovative, safe and effective medicines to cure people with ailments. We take it a step further by creating programs and advocacy campaigns allowing us to positively affect the lives of more Filipinos,” said Pfizer President and Country Manager Rey Gerardo Bacarro.
“Being recognized for these programs truly encourages us to carry on in creating meaningful programs that will make a difference in as many lives as possible,” Bacarro further stated.
