Pfizer Opens UP-PGH Virtual Library
June 22, 2001 - Pfizer, in line with its commitment to serve its partners in the medical community, has put up a virtual library at the Philippine General Hospital, the country's premier training institution, to help doctors, medical practitioners and students conduct medical research by giving them free access to the Internet.
"Pfizer's primary goal is to meet the needs of its customers and the community by focusing on customers' satisfaction and providing opportunities for learning. We believe that this worthy project will help us realize that goal, " said Pfizer Country Manager and President in the Philippines Rey Gerardo E. Bacarro, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing held at the Director's Conference Room in PGH this morning.
Present during the event were Dr. Nestor S. Pareja Vice- Chancellor for Planning and Development and Dr. Juan Ma. Pablo Nanagas PGH Director who both thanked Pfizer for the company's continued support to medical undertakings.
The virtual library will also allow users to gather information from medical publications and scientific journals to keep them abreast on medical advancements and scientific developments globally.
