LHP cited as People Power People Awardee
On the occasion of the 20th death anniversary of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr., the Leaders for Health Project, Pfizer's biggest philanthropy program, was cited by former President Corazon Aquino as People Power People Awardee.

This award is given to organizations that embody People Power ideals. In Mrs. Aquino's own words: the "path of sustained service to God and country… working quietly, willingly, neither seeking nor getting publicity but making a real difference in their communities." LHP is one of the twenty awardees recognized during the launch of the People Power People Movement last August 20, 2003. The LHP team was represented by DOH Secretary Manuel Dayrit, AGSB Dean Dr. Alfredo Bengzon, and Pfizer President and Country Manager Gerry Bacarro.
LHP is a tripartite partnership of DOH, Ateneo and Pfizer that aims to develop corps of competent and committed leaders who will help address healthcare problems in different poor municipalities in Surigao del Norte, Western Samar, Biliran and Camarines Sur.
