Pfizer Launches Country's First Emergency Room Medical Information Center at USTH
Recognizing the importance of access to timely and accurate medical information during medical emergencies, Pfizer embarked on an innovative project to help serve the medical community.
It recently opened the Pfizer-UST Hospital Medical Information Center at the USTH's Clinical Division Emergency Room. The medical information center gives UST Hospital the distinction of being the first hospital in the country to have a computer terminal in the emergency room, which can provide vital information that doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners need during emergency cases. Information available includes emergency guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of selected disease conditions.

A second terminal will be placed in the UST ER Private Division in the future.
This project enhances Pfizer's commitment to providing access to medical information and scientific breakthrough to a partner in healthcare, the UST Hospital as earlier showcased by the first Pfizer Virtual Library (known as the Hubert Wong Virtual Library), established in the Medical Arts building of UST.
The Pfizer Virtual Libraries are now in 7 locations, inclusive of the newly launched Cebu Institute of Medicine and Cebu Doctors Hospital Cyber cafes. The other locations are the Pfizer Head Office, the Philippine General Hospital-Pfizer Virtual Library, UST-Pfizer Virtual Library, Philippine Heart Center-MAS-Pfizer Information Center for Doctors and Patients and the DOH-Doctor-to-the-Barrios-Pfizer Training and Learning Center.
