NayBahay Birthing Center

PPFI launched the NayBahay Birthing Center program in 2012 when it set out to further contribute to health and wellness promotion by improving maternal health and reducing child mortality. The program aims to provide safe birthing facilities and affordable maternal healthcare services for women—especially those in remote areas.

Equipped with essential birthing equipment and managed by community health care professionals, the first NayBahay Ligtas Paanakan Center was established in Minalabac, Camarines Sur. PPFI also hosted a “Buntis Congress” for mothers within Minalabac, which served as a venue for maternal information education sessions.

On April 2013, the Global CSR Summit, Asia’s most prestigious event and awards on corporate social responsibility (CSR), recognized NayBahay with an award of merit. NayBahay was among the 20 CSR projects acknowledged from the 122 entries from 22 countries submitted to the awards program.

As of September 2014, there have been 1,000 deliveries at the NayBahay Birthing Center.
